Weekend Fun!

The "Myth Busters Adventure" was a science-filled blast! Participants tested the following myths -
- Plants only will grow in dirt. (Myth - Busted!)
- Soap and water will clean a penny. (Myth - Busted! Did you know vinegar and salt or taco sauce will?!? That's right, taco sauce. Try it on your own.... wondering why??? Just take a look at the ingredients in taco sauce.... Hmm....)
- Mixed up salt and pepper can't be seperated. (Myth - Busted!)
- Eating "pop rocks" candy and drinking a soda will cause you to explode. (Myth - Busted! Although, it does create quite a release of carbon dioxide.... Not explosion worthy, but still pretty cool otherwise!)
The Ambassadors also got together at Pizza Ranch for a fun, productive meeting. Their next meeting will be on February 18th, 2010, at the East Annex at 6:30 pm.
Speaking of fun meetings, the Waldorf Peppy Peppers and Palmer Sunbeams both met on Sunday evening. Some highlights from these club meetings...
- WPP members who are ambassadors (Alicia, Amy, and Jamie) led their club in a "Create A New Drink" activity, which taught science and teamwork. They did GREAT and the club had a lot of fun with the activity!
- WPP get a huge round for their parental involvement - These parents are always there to support the club, help out the kids, and teach them so many important skills. What an impressive bunch!
- PS members Lindy and Noah did a super cool project talk on Rainbows and Prisms. Very science filled and the kids and parents had some cool discussion related to the topic. Lots of neat props, too!
- PS had a pajama-themed meeting. Everyone came in their pajamas!!! (Perhaps they were also doing a science-experiment to see if meeting productivity and comfort are related...)
Stay tuned for more updates from 4-H Club Meetings. Don't forget - there are lots of great project boxes available from the Extension Office for you to use at your club meetings - they are sure to add fun and education every time they're used! (There are two new boxes - Myth Busters and Teamwork Olympics!)
