Waseca County 4-H Week has begun!

Waseca County 4-H Week is a time for Waseca County 4-H members and volunteers to come together and promote our great program! It's also time for us to have some fun and unite! It has officially started today and the week is sure to be filled with lots of great events and activities. This past week was rather busy in the Waseca County 4-H world.

The Janesville Jacks & Jills had a club meeting on Monday, April 5. Amy visited their meeting and led them in a activity developing teamwork skills. What a fun meeting! Lots of enthusiasm with involved parents - it doesn't get much better than that!

Fundraiser meeting + fantastic committee members = exciting plans for a fun fundraiser!! The committee met on Monday night to talk about advertising and make final plans for the big fundraiser on May 15th. We can't wait! Club schedules for the fundraiser shifts will be out soon!

Tuesday April 6 was the first official "Waseca County 4-H Week" event. The Waldorf Peppy Peppers provided a "thanks for your support" breakfast for the Waseca County Board of Commissioners. Avery, Travis, and Trevor, along with Dale and Glee, had a delicious breakfast planned, for which the commissioners were very appreciative. There were some great conversations and the youth did a great job talking about their experiences in the 4-H program.

Saturday morning, April 10, there was a "Let's Get Growing" Adventure. Youth learned about the many different parts of a plant that we eat. We made "plant people" that will grow grass as hair. Youth also planted some lima bean seeds where they can observe them growing and track their progress.

Saturday afternoon was a "Make & Take Project Workshop." Emily taught participants the art of counted cross stitch. Youth got to pick out a pattern of their choice and we began working on our projects. Can't wait to see them at fair time!!

Waseca County 4-H Week promises to be a fun time - be tuning in for the medallion hunt clues and some more trivia giveaway contests! Thank YOU for being a part of Waseca County 4-H!
